ASU Armed Robbery: Update: 3 additional arrests PDF Print
Friday, 05 October 2007 06:20

Appalachian State University Police think a Monday robbery could be more complicated than originally thought.

An arrest was made Wednesday, but, according to Chief Gunther Doerr, more arrests are very likely. 17-year-old Mu-Tse Michael Lin is the only one charged in the incident so far.

Reports say someone jumped in front of a vehicle in the Greenwood Parking Lot by waving a silver airsoft pistol. Three wallets are alleged stolen from the five occupants of the vehicle. Lin, who has been banned from campus, was held under a $25,000 bond. Doerr says Lin’s arrest came out of interviews and witness accounts. Doerr hopes to be able to elaborate this afternoon, but he does not believe Lin acted alone.

According to Doerr, the incident is the first armed robbery since 2002.

UPDATE: We've been told three additional arrests have been made. Details coming!
