E-bay bid leads to charges PDF Print
Thursday, 04 October 2007 21:30

A Wilkes man is in custody this week, thanks, in part, to E-bay.

According to reports, 28-year-old Shaun Christopher Swain bid on a $4,000 motorcycle from G.R. Chevrolet in Henry County, Virginia. When he went to collect, there was a mix up, Henry County authorities say. He left with the bike before payment had gone through- and, according to the dealership, efforts to get the money from Swain were futile.

Henry County authorities issued a warrant for Swain that was served on October 2. The motorcycle was located, along with four four-wheelers and one additional motorcycle. Deputies are currently running the serial numbers of the vehicles, but, at this time, have only impounded the Virginia motorcycle. The investigation is still active, Wilkes officials say.
