One person was transported from a foggy Monday morning accident scene on US 321 near the Astor Cook Road intersection.  The rear-end collision occurred just before 8am in a section coated in the thick morning fog and mist, with screeching tires heard at the wreck site as vehicles came around the curves there to discover stopped and creeping traffic.  State Patrol Trooper Brown said that the fog was a major factor in the wreck, that occurred as Tracy Blackman was stopped in the left land north-bound on 321, preparing to turn left into Astor Cook Road, where she lived.  Her white Chevy Envoy was struck in the rear by the red Subaru wagon driven by Patrick Williamson, 16, of Blowing Rock.  Tracy Blackman was transported by Watauga Medics to Watauga Medical Center for evaluation of a neck injury, while trooper Brown cited Patrick Williamson for Failure to Reduce Speed, but noted the part the fog played in the collision.
