Fifth Bandana Robbery PDF Print
Thursday, 04 October 2007 21:28

The fifth in a stream of armed robberies over the past month happened on Wednesday in Hickory, and police are looking for the person responsible.

Just after 11 p.m., a man is alleged to have walked up to the car of a Kentucky Fried Chicken night manager and demanded the night deposit. The man apparently pointed a long gun at the manager, who then handed over the cash. The suspect fled on foot. The KFC is blocks from Holiday Foods, which has been robbed twice in the last two weeks. In all of the robberies, a man wearing a blue bandanna carrying a rifle demanded money. Another incident last month in the parking lot of Wendy’s involved a bandanna-wearing suspect.

Police are patrolling the parking lots- but in the meantime, citizens are urged to be on the lookout. The suspect is described as black, about 5’11” to 6’ tall, wearing a blue bandanna and dark clothing. In one of the robberies, a clerk said the suspect was wearing prescription glasses. Anyone with information should contact Hickory police at 828-328-5551.
