UPDATE: Suspect Arrested in Stabbing of Lansing Man PDF Print

Warrants have been served on a Lansing man, charging him in the stabbing of another Ashe man in the second stabbing in three days in Ashe County.  Sheriff James Williams said this afternoon that 33-year old James Ray Stanley turned himself in and has been charged with Assault With a Deadly Weapon With Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury.  The arrest is for the stabbing of 45-year old Joseph Dean Wilcox of the Horse Creek area, Wilcox upgraded to fair condition in at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center where he was flown by Baptist AirCare last night.  The 9-1-1 call came in at about 7:15 last night from the Big Horse Creek Little Windfall Road area, Lansing First Responders and Blue Ridge Medics told to stage at Cloverdale Church for Ashe deputies to secure the scene.  Sheriff James Williams said Wilcox was found suffering a stab wound to the abdomen, and was rushed to Ashe Memorial for initial treatment, then was airlifted to the Winston-Salem Hospital.
