Concrete Truck overturns in Frank Community PDF Print
Tuesday, 02 October 2007 07:02
A Frank accident last night kept Avery County rescue workers busy.

Just after 8:30, firefighters arrived at N.C. Highway 19-E to find a concrete truck from Explosive Supply in Spruce Pine had run off the road and overturned in a field. The driver, who has not been identified, was pinned in the truck for over two hours before rescue workers were able to use a heavy wrecker to gain access. The man was airlifted to Johnson City Medical Center. According to firefighter Paul Buchanan, rescue workers were on the scene until after 1 a.m. Frank and Green Valley Volunteer Fire Departments, as well as Avery Rescue, Linville Rescue and Avery EMS were on scene.

Update:  Sources within Explosive Supply say the man is doing much better and is recovering from a leg injury sustained during the crash.
