Governor Mike Easley announced yesterday that North
Carolina has some of the nation’s most comprehensive support programs for
National Guard and Reserve family members.
The survey indicated more states are
seeking additional and creative ways to support members of the military and
their families. The National Governors Association survey involved all fifty
states, as well as Puerto Rico. Programs and benefits were divided into six
categories: family support, education, licensing and registration, tax and
financial, state employees, and protections, recognition and employment.
