Boone Police are seeking a suspect who robbed the CVS Pharmacy on Blowing Rock Road just before 6 Thursday evening.  Police say the suspect entered the store at about 5:30, and at about 5:50, a caller from inside the Pharmacy called Boone Police, reporting the armed man robbing the drug counter. The caller put their phone down but left the connection as officers were dispatched, but before the first police car arrived, the white male suspect had fled out the back on foot, and no vehicle was ever associated with the man.  A number of men roughly matching the description were checked out by Boone and Watauga officers, who formed a perimeter within minutes of the robbery call, but the suspect had not been found late Thursday night.  Boone Police described  white male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and a red ball cap, showing a gun to the pharmacy clerk, and demanding prescription drugs.  The suspect is seen on surveillance video approaching the store on foot from the Doctors Drive area, then running away toward Doctors Drive. He was carrying a blue bag that contained the pharmaceuticals he stole. Anyone with information should call Boone Police with that information.
