Today kicked off Boone Area Chamber of Commerce’s
Appalachian State University Appreciation week- and what better way to
celebrate than with ice cream?
At today's ice cream social, Chamber had ice cream to give to students, faculty and staff of ASU.
And pass it out they did- by the box full. The Chamber’s
Lori Inman wasn’t alone- several volunteers were on hand. Starting at 12:30 in
the Sanford Mall, Chamber volunteers attempted to share ice cream, courtesy of
Watauga Medical Center, with every individual lucky enough to pass by. The ice
cream social was just the beginning. The week will conclude Friday at 8 a.m.
with Wake Up Watauga, a special breakfast at Dan’l Boone Inn with speaker
Chancellor Kenneth Peacock. It’s all about giving back to the university, Lori Inman
says. The University does so much for the community, that the Chamber oganized a week devoted to ASU.
