Shook lawsuit dismissed: It’s official PDF Print
Thursday, 20 September 2007 19:40

A sexual discrimination lawsuit filed against former Watauga County Sheriff Mark Shook and the County has been officially dismissed.

A federal judge orally dismissed the suit yesterday. Chief Deputy Paula Townsend filed the suit in June of 2006, claiming she was fired after refusing Shook’s sexual advances. In a courtersuit Shook claimed the controversy cost him the Sheriff’s race against Len Hagaman. His suit was also dismissed. Shook now works at the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office.

While the suit was dismissed orally on Sept 12, it was not made official until this week.
