composite.jpgAppalachian State University Police are looking for a man they say is responsible for a Sunday sexual battery in the State Farm Parking lot in Boone.

The unidentified suspect is believed to have approached a female student around 2 p.m. grabbing her from behind. He is alleged to have put his hand over her mouth while wearing a black ski glove.

After the student screamed, he is believed to have fled toward the Greenway Trail. The suspect, believed to be in his late 20s to early 30s, is approximately 5’9” tall, weighs 180 lbs and has a medium build with dark brown hair. He was wearing a white tee shirt.

ASU Police issued the following safety tips yesterday: Always walk with a friend, be aware of your surroundings and utilize your cell phone or the bluelight phones when you feel unsafe.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call Crimestoppers at 828-262-4555.
