Greenville NC Man Charged after Watauga Traffic Stop PDF Print

On January 8, 2012 at 12:33pm, Deputies from the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a Justin Scott Weathington of Greenville, NC, near the Stony Fork community on US-421 South, in Deep Gap. Based on strong probable cause and observation of illegal activity, the vehicle was searched and Felony amount of Schedule II trafficking amount of “opium, or heroin,” was discovered, along with marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Mr. Weathington was transported to the Watauga County Magistrate’s Office where he was charged with Felony Possession with Intent to Manufacture/Sell/or Deliver a Schedule II controlled substance, Felony Trafficking in Opium or Heroin, Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana up to ½ oz and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Mr. Weathington was also charged with on an outstanding warrant from Pitt County, North Carolina for drug paraphernalia.

Mr. Weathington’s is being held under a $100,000.00 secured bond at the Watauga County Detention Center.
