Boone PD Violates Noise Ordinance for Council PDF Print

Bet you didn’t know Boone Police even had a rock band…Boone’s Town Council chambers were rocking during the break of Council’s Tuesday night meeting. Town Council had scheduled this “Quiet Riot” to aid them in determining an acceptable maximum decibel level to include in the developing noise ordinance. Under the direction of Chief of Police Crawford two of Boone’s finest played a “Guns and Roses” tune while Council members listened inside and outside the building.  With decibel meters in hand and lots of good natured kidding Council members, town police officers, and other interested parties braved the cold temperatures in their ongoing effort to find that fair balance between supporting businesses and the citizens who are affected when their entertainment gets too loud. The purpose of this demonstration was to gain information which will be incorporated into the Council’s final decisions on the noise ordinance—and Boone PD’s greatest hits.
