New River Money, Records Issues at Wilkes Meeting Today PDF Print

The New River Service Authority—the Board of New River Behavioral Healthcare—will continue their struggles to close down the agency in a meeting today in Wilkesboro.  The 9am meeting comes as more county commissions in the five-county service area reach the limits for borrowing money against New River real properties—still without resolution of many financial matters related to the melt-down of the mental health agency.  Much of the meeting time to date has been spent in closed executive sessions, and a new auditing firm was selected last time for another look into the financial issues.  Today’s meeting is at the Wilkes Administrative offices on North Broad Street in Wilkesboro.
