A Jefferson woman was killed in a Friday afternoon wreck in Yadkin County when her car hit a tractor trailer driven by a Watauga County man for a local firm.  The state patrol identified the woman killed as 55-year old Debra Price of Faw Roland Street in Jefferson, the report  saying that her 2008 Chrysler veered across the median of US 421 3.7 miles west of Yadkinville and struck the tractor trailer Mitchell Gragg was driving for Critcher Brothers Produce.  The impact killed Debra Price and caused the cab to burst into flames, but trooper W.L. Eckerd said that Gragg managed to get out.  The trooper also said Gragg did all he could to try to avoid the collision with the convertible.  Both vehicles were destroyed in the crash and fire. Trooper Eckard’s report says that Debra Price may have fallen to sleep after complaining of fatigue to a travelling companion in a trailing car.
