Two people were injured in a Sunday afternoon crash on Howard’s Creek Church Road involving a motorcycle and a Scion.  First reports from the scene indicated a leg injury, and when Watauga Medics arrived on the scene, they decided to call for an airlift of the motorcyclist, fearing internal injuries, and WINGS Air Rescue was called to a landing zone at Hardin Park School.  Bruce Johnston of Howards Creek Road was taken from there to the Johnson City Medical Center while the passenger in the Scion was taken to Watauga Medical Center for more minor injuries.  Meat Camp Fire and First Responders took care of the accident scene while Boone Fire set up the landing zone. Trooper Townsend of the State Patrol said that the Scion pulled out in front of the cycle, and that Arvil Sale of Howards Creek Church Road was cited for Failure to Yield.
