Fire and smoke damaged a Cecil Miller Road house this morning after food was left cooking in the oven.  Boone Fire got the call at 8:46 this morning and found smoke pouring from the 173 Cecil Miller property, but no one was in the house at the time. Firemen pulled the stove out of the house, then worked to eject the thick smoke from the house—the smoke probably the worst part of the damage, according to chief Jimmy Isaacs.  Ownership of the property was still being investigated along with who might have occupied the house and other aspects of the fire still being probed.
