Congressman Virginia Foxx says her experience in education contributed to her appointment as a House conferee for a Higher Education bill.Foxx had several concerns she shared with the committee.
"Every time federal money goes in to help students, the colleges raise their tuition," Foxx says.
One way to address that concern would be through work-study programs, Foxx said.
"There's probably 30 years worth of study that show that work study is probably the most effective federal benefit to education."
Foxx says her idea is even getting bipartisan support.
