McHenry worker gets DUI PDF Print
Wednesday, 05 September 2007 20:08

A second person with ties to 10th District Congressman Patrick McHenry has been criminally charged.

31-year-old James Brett Keeter had a blood alcohol level of .13 when stopped by police in Gastonia. Keeter has been charged with driving while impaired. The incident occurred just before 4 a.m. Sunday.

A written statement from Jon Causey, McHenry’s chief of staff expressed the office’s disappointment. Keeter’s actions do not “adhere to the principles and standards” of McHenry’s office, Causey wrote. He goes on to say he’s confident Keeter will learn from his mistake and turn it into a “constructive, positive influence in his life going forward.”

Early this summer, campaign worker Michael Aaron Lay was indicted by a Gaston County grand jury for two counts of election fraud. 26-year-old Lay accepted deferred prosecution last month and is serving six months of probation.
