A 6:40pm crash occurred on East King Street Wednesday when the driver of a Chevy pickup truck blacked out, crashing through the construction barricades just past the 105 extension as he traveled west.  His truck struck construction materials—especially concrete culverts, that the truck managed to climb on top of.  The man was still slumped over the steering wheel when first witnesses arrived, but by the time medical help and police arrived, he regained consciousness, and was helped down off the elevated wreckage.  Investigating Boone Police officer Dennis O’Neal said that a medical condition caused the accident and that the driver refused to go to the hospital to be checked.
