7 Charged in Break-In Bust PDF Print

The Ashe County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of 7 suspects on incidents of breaking, entering, and larceny spanning several months.  According to Sheriff James Williams, the following individuals were arrested by Detective Sgt Dennis Anders:

Delaina Kathryn Grapes of Galax, Virginia
DOB:  08271958
Arrest Date:  08162011
Charges:  Felony Larceny, Released on Secured Bond

Lindsay Edwin Milam of Creston, NC
DOB:  11241962
Arrest Date:  08022011
Charges:      2 cts of Second Degree Burglary
Possession of Burglary Tools
Larceny of Firearm
Larceny after Breaking and Entering
Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon
Milam in jail under $162,500 secured bond; partial recovery of property

Brandon Wayne Eldreth of Big Horse Creek in Lansing
DOB:  09181992
Arrest Date:  08292011
Charges:  Several counts of Felony Larceny, multiple counts of misdemeanor larceny, obtaining property by false pretense, and injury to personal property, some property recovered
Released on bond

Daniel Howard Hodges (pictured) of Vilas NC, DOB: 07301992 and Orin Thomas (not pictured) of Miller’s Creek Road, DOB: 01171994 were arrested on August 30, 2011.  Hodges and Thomas were arrested in Wilkes County.
Charges: Injury to Personal Property, Felony Larceny, and multiple counts of misdemeanor larceny
Released on bond
Some of the property has been recovered.


Jeffrey Daniel Rhodes of Jefferson, NC
DOB:  03211989
Charges:  Larceny of Firearm
Arrest Date:  08242011
Released on bond


Randall Scott Combs of West Jefferson
DOB:  11271971
Charges:  Injury to Personal Property
Arrest Date:  09102011


Alvin Shawn Byrd of Hampton TN
DOB:  10311976
Charges Breaking, Entering, Larceny
Arrest Date:  09162011, partial recovery of property
Released on bond

Sheriff Williams reports that there were several victims in these arrests from all over the County.  Williams states that with the arrest of some of these suspects, several strings of break-ins have been cleared.  Although not all the property was recovered, many items have been returned to their rightful owners.
