Fire damaged a Blowing Rock home early Sunday morning, a house saved due to someone passing by spotting smoke. The small cottage at 276 Sunset Drive was found on fire when Blowing Rock Fire arrived shortly after the 7:06am call. Firemen tore into a front wall from the front porch of the home to reach the fire, pulling burning materials out onto the side yard in the process. Blowing Rock Fire is determining the cause and the damage assessment.  It was not clear whether anyone was in the residence at the time of the fire.
