Two Adults in ICU After Crash, Child Uninjured PDF Print

Two people were critically injured in a single-car wreck yesterday afternoon near the Watauga-Ashe line, but a child in the vehicle was not injured.  The 1:55pm wreck occurred as an Isuzu approached Brownwood Road on Cranberry Springs, according to Trooper Will Miller.

The vehicle did not stop at the intersection, and attempted a hard right turn, causing it to run off of the road across the intersection and flip over, coming to rest against a structure at the edge of the field.  The man and woman in the car were airlifted to the Johnson City Medical Center, the woman from a field near the crash, the man from the Deep Gap fire Department.  Both were in intensive care late yesterday, according to Trooper Miller, who said that the child, a young girl, in the car was properly restrained and appeared uninjured—and was transported to Watauga Medical Center as a precaution.  Deep Gap and Fleetwood first responders were dispatched along with Watauga Medics.
