A special meeting between the Watauga County School Board and County Commissioners should bring good news for those eagerly awaiting the arrival of the new high school-the first construction contract is to be approved. According to Superintendent Dr. Bobbie Short, that’s one of the last steps before site preparation.
Construction workers should begin moving ground mid-September.
Current Watauga High School freshmen will hopefully finish their high school careers at the new facility.
Short loves being able to tell freshmen about new facility- especially about how much cooler the building will be in the summer.
