On August 5, 2011, Watauga County Sheriff’s Office received a report in reference to individuals misrepresenting themselves as Watauga County School Interns in the Deep Gap Community. The reporting person told the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office that two white females came to their residence and stated that they were Watauga County School Interns and were surveying area households. The two white females then asked the reporting person various personal questions and attempted to sell them books. One of the females was approximately 5’5” tall, 150 lbs., with blond hair, tan skin and freckles. The other female was approximately 5’4” tall, 130 lbs., with dark hair and glasses. The two white females left the residence on foot.

Watauga County Sheriff’s Office talked with the Watauga County Board of Education and was advised that Watauga County Schools do not have interns while school is not in session and that they do not encourage door-to-door sales. If you have any contact with these individuals contact Watauga County Sheriff’s Office at 828-264-3761.
