Michael Story, an ASU student and US Army veteran, has donated a full-blooded German Shepherd to the Boone Police Department. Mr. Story contacted the Boone Police Department regarding the possible donation and a meeting was held with one of the department’s K-9 handlers. The K-9, a female named “Maus”, was put through exercises and it was determined that she would be an excellent candidate for police work.  Story and Maus met with Boone Police Chief Dana Crawford, the Boone Police K-9 officers, and various other members of the department at the Town of Boone council chambers where Maus was welcomed into the Boone Police Department ranks.

Story wanted to donate Maus to the department because he wanted her to be properly cared for and knew that she would be used for a good purpose within the community.  The Boone Police Department is very thankful for Mr. Story’s selfless act.
