Campfire ban on National Forests PDF Print
Thursday, 23 August 2007 20:00
Forest Service officials have banned campfires on all units of the National Forests in North Carolina in further notice, due to the drought.
The ban applies to all fires outside of developed recreation areas. Fires within developed recreation areas are limited to fire pits, grills, or fire rings installed for that specific purpose. Backcountry campers may only use a stove or grill fueled by liquid petroleum fuels.
