Rain showers: Not enough to squelch drought PDF Print
Wednesday, 22 August 2007 20:00

While it has rained in the High Country- residents should still be conserving water.

According to Boone Public Utilities director Rick Miller, scattered showers are not going to squelch the drought.

It will take two or three days of steady rain, he says.

Miller’s office is on top of things in the meantime and continues to monitor the town's water usage.

Boone is already under a voluntary water conservation alert, and citizens are asked to take precautions to preserve the High Country’s water supply.
