"Doc" Celebration Friday Downtown PDF Print

Tomorrow is the day— Downtown Boone celebrates the unveiling of the Doc Watson Sculpture Downtown.  King Street will close to traffic from 4:00pm - 8:00 pm, as some 2000 of Doc’s closest Friends gather at the Jones House Community Center for a very special Concert on the Lawn. Traffic diversion starts at about 4,

according to DBDA Exec Pilar Fotta. Music starts at 4:30 with Creekside Grass, then at 5:00 – Music with Clint Howard, Wayne Henderson, Herb Key, and Jeff Little.  The Statue Dedication Ceremony is at 5:30, and at 5:50 – Music with David Holt, Charles T. Welch, T. Michael Coleman, and Jeff Little finish out the celebration.  There are maps and schedules on the Downtown Boone Development Association website.
