Motorcycle chase led through Morganton- no suspects PDF Print
Tuesday, 21 August 2007 20:25
Avery County deputies still have no suspects in a Sunday night chase that led to the discovery of a stolen motorcycle.
According to Sheriff Kevin Frye, it was a wild night as Avery deputies pursued two speeding motorcycles to the Burke County line. Frye said the motorcycles had such a high rate of speed that Avery County had to suspend the chase. Burke officials took over when the cycles cleared the county line, and while one cycle was discovered wrecked in Jonas Ridge, the other led law enforcement through Morganton. The wrecked motorcycle was reported stolen from Newton earlier this month. No suspects have been identified. Anyone with information on the identities of the cyclists is encouraged to contact Avery County Sheriff’s Office at 828-733-2071.
