Fire Destroys Beaver Dam Home PDF Print

Good Friday was anything but for a Sugar Grove area family, who lost most everything in a fire found roaring at their home late Friday night.  The 9:45pm fire call caused Beaver Dam, Fall Creek and Zionville to respond to the 148 Albert Tester Road home, found fully involved in flames when first units arrived. The home was that of the Ward family, Thomas and Mary, living there with their son, Ethan, but no one was at home at the time of the fire.
It appeared that an electric space heater left too near to a couch in the living room started the blaze, according to Watauga County Fire Marshal Steve Sudderth. Friends, family, and the American Red Cross are assisting the Ward family.
