Overnight Storms Fell Trees, Cause Wreck PDF Print

The overnight storms hit the area early, with some road situations developing due to the rain and wind.  Carter and Ashe Counties reported trees down, Ashe in the 4am hour, but firemen dispatched cleared the debris even before the DOT arrived.

One injury was reported in a 4:30am accident in Jefferson this morning, said to be related to the weather.  EMS and law enforcement were dispatched to the 500 block of West Main Street, with a 53-year old woman reporting back and neck pain from the accident.  Jefferson Police have the accident under investigation.
