The suspect wanted in connection with a triple murder in Conover has been apprehended this morning. Everette Hewitt was reportedly captured by Catawba County Sheriff's deputies near Oxford School Road and Highway 16. Hewitt is accused of killing two women and a man,

then shooting a second man during a robbery committed early Tuesday morning in a trailer in Oak Knoll Park. The third shooting victim died yesterday, while Catawba authorities identified the suspect in the now triple homicide.  Warrants were issued and a bulletin aired by lawmen seeking Everette Porshau Hewitt, 32, for three counts of murder. Catawba investigators say Hewitt pounded on the door of the Oak Knoll Mobile Home Park trailer around 4:30 yesterday morning, shot two women and homeowner Wade Sigmon, 50, before robbing a fourth person, taking his bank card and demanding his pin number.  He shot the fourth victim in the neck before fleeing in an SUV. Deputies found the vehicle within hours of the shooting, according to Sheriff Coy Reid. The sheriff said that Hewitt had been at the trailer earlier in the night.
