We seem to have escaped the last batch of rain mostly unscathed, with only scattered mud reports and debris on roads—and fog. The last was a mud slide on 16 North in Ashe, but that was cleared up by last night. There’s another line of rain coming through, to be followed by more general rain, then snow, and by tonight, we could see snow accumulation 1 to 3 inches, according to the National Weather Service. Then come the winds—and the temp drops—with lows in the mid 20s. Northwest winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph. are in the forecast.  The chance of snow showers continues into Friday morning...then partly sunny with a slight chance of snow showers in the afternoon—maybe another inch possible—but still cold and breezy gusts to 50mph and with highs only in the upper 30s.
Get through that, and the weekend looks great.
