Blowing Rock C.A.R.E.S. arranged a very special Spiderman-themed 5th Birthday Party for Pre-Kindergarten student Moses H. on Saturday, February 21 in the gymnasium at Blowing Rock School. Spiderman is known for his battles against evil; Moses is in his own battle against pediatric rhabdomyosarcoma.
Several hundred people attended this special party including all of Moses’ Pre-Kindergarten friends, their siblings and parents. What a fantastic time everyone had! The party included two bouncy houses, Spiderman pinatas, face painting, balloon making, a bit of basketball, tons of refreshments and a very special appearance by Spiderman himself! Thank you to the following for their generous donations: Walmart, Kmart, Red Onion, Coke, Chick-fil-A, Panera Bread, Stick Boy, Kilwins, Food Lion, Knights on Main, Holmes Convocation Center, Jump Inc. (bouncy houses), Linda Bolick (cakes), Lara Lemons, Susie O’Bryant (BR Staff, face painting), Meggan Knight (BR Staff Pre-K Teacher), Brandi Warren (BR Staff Pre-K TA), Renee Robinson (BR Staff Pre-K TA), numerous Blowing Rock parents, Blowing Rock Middle School Basketball student volunteers and the lovely young lady (ASU student?) who works at Michaels in Boone and volunteered to come make balloons for the kids. We are very lucky to have 3 special ladies that founded Blowing Rock C.A.R.E.S., look out for community needs and worked hard to make this party such a success: Trish Kohlasch, Liz Tincher and Linda Laughter. Please keep Moses and his family in your prayers as he continues his battle.
