Two Boone residents were airlifted to Carolinas Medical Center after a midnight wreck Thursday morning on US 321 between Blowing Rock and Boone.

The single car wreck occurred near the Aho convenience center as Kelly Jordan, 28, lost control of her Scion and slammed several times into the sheer rock wall just off the road, her car landing back out in the middle of the north-bound lanes.  Watauga Medics transported Jordan and her male passenger to a landing zone in the parking lot of Tweetsie, and choppers from both Baptist Aircare and CMC flew the two to the Charlotte hospital.  Trooper Brown has cited Kelly Jordan for driving while impaired in the accident, and said she should soon be release from the hospital, but her passenger was more seriously hurt.  He did not release the passenger’s name.
