Air quality alert: Stay in the High Country PDF Print
Monday, 06 August 2007 20:00
Due to poor air quality in North Carolina’s metro areas today- it may be a good idea to stay in the High Country.
State air quality officials have issued an orange alert for Charlotte, Hickory, the Triad and Triangle areas. A similar alert was issued yesterday. People in those metropolitan areas are advised to avoid moderate exertion outdoors in the afternoons. Air pollution of this nature could also negatively affect those with heart conditions or respiratory ailments. Ozone is believed to be the primary cause of the alert.
