Man Scrambles From Burning House in Early Friday Fire PDF Print

An Avery man woke just before 2 this morning to find his Minneapolis area home fully involved in flames, and he barely managed to escape the fire. Avery Fire Marshall David Charles Vance said the first call was to the Frank Volunteer Fire Department, backed up by Elk Park, Newland, the Avery Ladder Truck and Green Valley, but there was no saving the single family home at 360 Big Horse Creek Road. The owner was the only occupant of the home, and he had to crawl out of a window to escape the flames, but was not hurt in the fire.  Avery EMS was called to the scene as a stand-by.  Vance said fire investigators will have to return to the scene to try to determine the cause.
