Angela and Phillip Weaver took still and video pictures of ice causing flooding on Helton Creek Friday morning.  Some of their video made it on the Weather Channel, and they shared some of their photos with us. (photos: Angela and Phillip Weaver)

"We were driving along Hwy 58 in Grayson County, VA  yesterday afternoon when Jadus, our son, spotted an ice flash flood on Helton Creek.  There were trees being torn down; one huge log was about 2.5 feet in diameter. We followed the ice flow all the way to Hwy 194 in Ashe County.  My husband's father grew up on Helton Creek and said he's never witnessed anything like this ice flood."
