Appalachian Regional Employees to Build For Habitat For Humanity PDF Print

Habitat for Humanity: It’s a way that folks can use their skills to help others in need by building a home for them. A band of Employees from the Appalachian Regional Healthcare System will build two Habitat for Humanity Houses.

Employees at Canon Memorial and Watauga Medical Center have committed to raising funds and providing construction labor to build one home each in Avery and Watauga Counties. They are donating some of their own money, but keep an eye open for some of their fundraisers. They will conduct a 5K run and an inter-hospital Softball competition. Habitat for Humanity works in partnership uses volunteer labor, land, and materials to construct or renovate simple, decent, affordable housing, which they then sell to the partner families at no profit and with no interest charged.
