West Jefferson Police Chief to Leave Post PDF Print

The Odyssey that has been the leadership of the West Jefferson Police Department is about to take yet another turn, that with the sudden announcement that Chief Brian Grogan will leave his post tomorrow.

Grogan was promoted to Chief two years ago with the controversial firing of former Chief Robert Roten, hidden under a cloud of being a personnel matter.  At the time, Town Manager Greg McGinnis told the Jefferson Post that it was his decision to replace Roten.  McGinnis has since left the Town Manager post after being charged with DWI and other traffic counts after an incident in West Jefferson.  There’s little information about Grogan’s decision to leave the post, except a statement that his move had been in the works for some time.
