DOT to Increase Blast Time, Road Closure on 321 PDF Print

Your trek on US 321 through the construction zone in Caldwell just hit a speed bump—the contractor has been given another nighttime hour to blast.  Starting tomorrow, W.C. English will be given the authority by the DOT to close the highway from 7pm to 5am Mondays to Tuesday and Wednesday to Thursdays, starting an hour earlier.

The stretch from Kirby Mountain road to Blackberry Road is detoured through Wilkesboro for that twice-a-week overnight and Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon to 2pm.  The 1.2 mile stretch is the last of the current project, which will shift attention to Blackberry Road north next year.
