Several injuries came in weekend accidents in the area, including a 16-year old girl, hurt in a motocross accident in Wilkes County early yesterday afternoon.  Alexander Rescue was on the scene at the motocross in the Wilbar community and reported on the girl’s condition as Wilkes units responded.   Wilbar firemen set up a landing zone for a medivac helicopter to land.  She was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center for treatment of several injuries from the motorcycle off-road wreck.

A Saturday wreck on private property near Boone injured a 64-year old man when his car flipped over.  The Westport Drive accident entrapped the 64-year old in his car, causing a call for fire, rescue, and medics to the scene.  Injuries to the man appeared to not be life threatening, and the state patrol is investigating.

And a bicyclist wrecked Saturday during the noon hour at 105 and 321 near Wendy’s, causing a traffic snarl.  Boone Police say the cyclist slammed into a curb, causing the bike to flip and the rider to go airborne.  Watauga Medics took the man to Watauga Medical center for treatment.
