Boone Business Break-In Suspect Sought

Boone Police are investigating yet another business break-in from the overnight hours from earlier this week, and are asking for public help through Crimestoppers. Search on for Missing Charlotte Man

Law enforcement in the area is scouring the area, including a helicopter from the State Patrol, seeking a Charlotte man missing for several days. 65 year-old John Greene Jr., is described as a white male, 6’1” and 220 pounds with salt-and-pepper grey hair, and may be wearing khakis and a blue collared shirt.

Phone Scams Seek Your Money or ID

Blowing Rock Police are reporting a number of phone scams of late. Lieutenant A. Mahaffey reported that there has been an increase lately in the number of these calls. Police say the call usually starts out by the caller telling you that you have won some contest--one that you don’t remember registering for. Full Story

 
Four Charged in Hickory Kidnapping

Four suspects were arrested around 3:30 am yesterday after Hickory Police found a kidnap victim bound with duct tape in a residence just outside the city limits.  Alfonso Moreno was reported missing by an acquaintance after she received a telephone call demanding a ransom for Moreno’s safe return.
