Paris Brown, a 2007 graduate and former Watauga High School athlete, has signed with North Carolina Central University, a Division Two school, in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association. 

While not as extensive as last week, weekend thunderstorms pounded the High Country, toppling branches and spreading brush on roadways. 

Months of planning has gone into this year’s July 4^th parade in Boone- and it’s almost here.

As of yesterday, the fires in the Linville Gorge Wilderness are 95 percent contained.
