Damage Extensive, Injuries Slight in Crash

Dog Alerts Woman to Early Morning Fire

A Valle Crucis woman escaped her burning home early Saturday morning thanks to her dog waking her to the danger.  The 1am fire call sent Foscoe and other Watauga departments to 4660 Highway 194 South where they found one section of the 86-year old home place fully involved in fire.

Dean Smith Passes Away At Age 83
