 | McVeigh Scores Twice, ASU Defeats UNCG, 2-1 ASU junior Sam McVeigh (Charlotte, N.C. / Charlotte Catholic) had a breakout day, as she earned her first two goals of the season to lift Appalachian State women’s soccer (6-10-2, 2-6-2 SoCon) to a 2-1 victory over Southern Conference opponent UNCG (8-8-1, 7-2-1 SoCon) at UNCG Soccer Stadium on Sunday. The game gives Appalachian its sixth win of the season, one more than coach Sarah Strickland’s debut season in 2010.
