Wingate Defeats LRU, Wins Women's SAC Title

The Wingate Women's Soccer Team (16-3) scored four first-half goals en route to a 4-2 win over Lenoir-Rhyne (17-2) Sunday afternoon at Manchester Meadows to take home the 2011 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Tournament Championship.

Appalachian Blanks Davidson, 2-0

Junior Boubacar Toure (Atlanta, Ga./Georgia Perimeter College) scored two late goals for the Mountaineers as fifth-seeded Appalachian State men’s soccer (10-4-4) defeated host, and No. 4 seed Davidson (8-8-3) by a score of 2-0 in the quarterfinals of the Southern Conference Championship Tournament at Alumni Stadium on Sunday night.
