JILLY HAS BEEN FOUND ALIVE!!! (UPDATED 09/01/2009)
JILLY HAS BEEN FOUND ALIVE!!!
While I am ALWAYS happy to be able to announce the great news of one of "my" Pet Patrol babies being found...this one brings special joy to my heart!!!
I want to thank everyone for all of their best wishes and efforts in finding Jilly! Linda Plaster found her girl Jilly this evening behind her house down in a ravine. She is alive! She has been missing for 25 days. She was taken to the Emergency clinic this evening and is doing quite well considering the length of time she has been missing. She lost 13 pounds...is dehydrated and had maggots on her rear quarter. All of her vitals were great. Truly a miracle :). This shows that you just can't give up, if Linda had not kept pushing Jilly would have died.

incredibly caring and competent. Dr. Sarah Cooper was also standing by, on her

Our SMOOTH, or SHORT-HAIRED, Collie, Jilly, went missing August 5, 2009 at 9:00 pm in the Powder Horn Mountain community (near Leatherwood) in Deep Gap, NC, outside of Boone/Blowing Rock/Wilkesboro, NC. Jilly is 12 years old and we’ve had her since she was 6 months old! Jilly has a companion that’s a three-legged rescue Collie, Peanut. Peanut misses her very
much – Peanut has been very depressed (I had to hand feed him the first several days she was gone). Jilly and Peanut are inseparable and have also been together since Jilly was a 6 months old. Peanut is also a very special dog – he’s a pet therapy dog. I can tell that Peanut is still grieving, as is her whole family. Jilly is hard of hearing and needs arthritis
medication and is otherwise in good health (to the best of our knowledge). Jilly isn't wearing tags, but she is micro-chipped. We had just pulled into our vacation home here and, even though Jilly’s been coming here for 11 years, she vanished the minute we got her out of the car. We didn’t even get her into the house to put her North Carolina collar on - something must have spooked her or she might have chased something – it happened in a flash. We have been looking for her night and day for almost three weeks now. PLEASE, PLEASE HELP US FIND HER. Any information you can provide will be helpful and tremendously appreciated. ***REWARD OFFERED***
