LOST DOG

I AM VERY HAPPY TO REPORT THAT JP IS HOME WITH HIS FAMILY RIGHT WHERE HE BELONGS!!!

Cindy,

Please let everyone know how grateful we are to everyone who took our flyers and who called with sightings....after a week on the lam, JP is home and in his girl's arms where he belongs.  He's really skinny but seems to be in good shape - we'll get the vet to check him over in the morning.

Thank you especially to the woman who recognized him at her back door and called immediately when he started to walk off down her driveway tonight (Friday).  She refused to take any reward; but as far as I'm concerned, she added stars to her crown in heaven tonight.  So many people took our search seriously and helped, it just makes me all the happier we live in such a wonderful community.  THANK YOU ALL.

Very sincerely yours,
Marjory Holder

UPDATE...10/07/2009:

JP was seen on Tuesday 10/6 around CCCTI, on Larel Fork and White Oak, just west of the By-Pass!

It's our first word in days....please update the page and help us bring Nyssa's baby home.

J.P. is my grand-dog.  He is a whippet (like a small greyhound) - white with large brown or brindle patches.  He got out on Friday night 10/2/09 off Poplar Grove Road near Yonalahsee stables.  He was seen headed north on Poplar Grove on Saturday morning 10/3, then across 105 at the Blimpies, and later headed north on George Wilson Road (around 9 pm).  Someone north of West King, on Old Bristol Road, may have heard his dog tags jingling in the wee hours of Sunday morning.

JP may be shy or scared on approach, but is very sweet and cuddly and gets along well with other dogs. He can burst out with speed and enthusiasm, but is not at all dangerous.  He cannot tolerate cold. He does NOT like to get into or ride in cars, so the best bet is to inform Nyssa by text or phone of his location and get him on a leash or lead if possible to keep him in one place.

The address on JP’s tag is on Flannery Fork Road, which is Nyssa’s parents’ address.

He appears to be generally heading north.

We need to know where he was seen, what time, and what direction he's headed in now.

UPDATE...10/05/2009 @ 5:30PM
This is Nyssa; JP's mom.  The last time he was seen was around 9:00 Saturday on the 105 bypass and George Wilson Road heading North.  A few people have tried to chase after him and grab him.  One man had his collar, JP freaked and the guy thought he was going to bite him so let go.  He is NOT vicious and will not bite; he's just lost and scared at this point.  Also, if you chase him, he will run away from you.  No one has seen him since.  We're not entirely sure where he is now, but we're still looking.

I AM SO VERY HAPPY TO ANNOUNCE THAT THESE BABIES HAVE BEEN FOUND SAFE AND SOUND...WELL EXCEPT FOR THEIR OBVIOUS RUN IN WITH A SKUNK!

JANE WOULD LIKE TO THANK EVERYONE THAT HELPED HER LOOK FOR HER BABIES.

Gracie and Lobo are my two shepherd babies and ran away last night (9/30/09) at 8:30 p.m. after seeing deer behind my house on Beech Mountain. We live on Greenbriar Road located behind Lake Coffey.
They are friendly, large dogs usually non-aggressive; loves people. They are seemingly two halves of the same whole meaning they're usually inseparable, however anything is possible at this point.
Gracie is slim and Lobo is huge as well as his left ear doesn't stand up. They're wearing red collars with 2 ID tags shaped like bones listing four numbers as well as being micro-chipped.
I am beside myself with worry and pray for their safe return. Last night was their first night outdoors and I'm hoping they'll be found soon.
I have contacted the Police Dept. both last night and today. I have been to all areas on Beech, however they can run so fast and cover so much territory.
I'm attaching some photos and if more is needed, please let me know. Please call anytime, day or night.
